Hill Brothers performed the Earthwork & Drainage Package for the new Alabama Railcar Facility constructed in Cherokee, Alabama. As a key subcontractor to the Yates Construction/Walbridge Aldinger, AJV, Hill Brothers was responsible for the following items of work: maintenance of roads, construction of temporary roadways, surveying, cut and fill, structural excavation, structural earth backfill and granular backfill, rock excavation, removal and replacement of unsuitable material, drainage installation, providing offsite borrow material, placement of compacted material, lime stabilization, installation of geotextile fabric, placement of compacted stone, all grading, fertilization and seeding.

Major items of work for this project included:

o 323,400 Tons Crushed Stone Base Building Pads & Roads

o 7,960 LF RCP in Diameters ranging from 18” to 60”

o  1,978,000 CY Earthwork
