Hill Brothers was awarded this project by the New Orleans District Corps of Engineers as part of their Emergency Restoration Plan - The London Avenue Canal Levees Seepage Cutoff Project located in the Lake Pontchartrain Louisiana Vicinity. This contract was a post-Katrina levee repair and stabilization project that was conducted on an emergency schedule with two shifts working 7 days a week and 24 hours per day. The project was scheduled for a 70-day total duration and was completed May 29th. The items of work for this project included clearing and grubbing, borrow and fill, over 330,000 sf steel sheet piling, 4,500 linear feet of erosion pad, scour protection, and fertilizing, seeding and mulching.
