Hill Brothers is under contract with Baton Rouge Southern Rail Road to enlarge the existing KCS yard. The work consists of clearing & grubbing, subgrade placement, CR-610 stone, drainage, ballast storage and loading. The expansion is a six step process. The first step is to enhance existing tracks for storage of cars. The second stage is to provide a Car Repair Facility utilizing four tracks and access roads between each track. The third stage is to add two tracks for Receiving and Departure. Spacing is again provided for inspection. The tracks are just over 9,000 lf long and tie to the KCS spur track. The fourth stage is to install additional tracks on the East end of the project adding 200 car storage to the site. The fifth stage will include adding tracks to the existing central yard for an additional 100 car storage. The final stage is to add 500 car capacity expansion in the SIT yard located on the West side of the project. The plan is to occupy the track as the construction completes.
