New work for Hill Brothers includes a levee enlargement project referred to as Tallula-Magna Vista -- Levee Enlargement and Berms, located in Issaquena County. The project consists of clearing and grubbing; 833,000 cubic yards levee embankment; 105,000 cubic yards berm embankment; water control structures; removing gravel surfacing and replacing with crushed stone levee surfacing; corrugated metal pipe, stone protection; removing, stockpiling and replacing cattle guards and existing concrete beams. Hill Brothers will be performing 84% of the work on this $5.4 million contract with the Vicksburg District Corps of Engineers that was awarded to Quinn Contracting, Inc. The first pre-work meeting was held on Wednesday, April 23rd.
L&D RAILROAD PROJECT
Hill Brothers has recently negotiated a new contract between Hill Brothers, Balfour Beatty and L&D Railroad for a siding improvement project with weigh-in-motion scales. This project is located in New Iberia, Louisiana.
